A Passing Out parade for the newly enrolled cadets at 1122 (Marmion) Squadron has been held at the Sir Robert Peel Hospital. Following a successful recruitment campaign at local schools the probationers were put through a basic training programme. The parade was watched by proud parents who witnessed their sons and daughters at the march past.

Sgt Lester from 1046 (Fordhouses) Squadron received his gliding Gold Wings from Officer Commanding Staffordshire WIng, Wing Commander Colin Cope, at a the recent presentation evening, held at Wing Headquarters. Sgt Lester was one of many cadets to receive awards ranging from Gliding Scholarships through to BTEC in Public Services.

The long awaited, and much prepared for, final inspection for the Sir Alan Lees Trophy took place at 100 (Nantwich) Squadron. Together with reviewing officer Wing Commander Martin Haswell, Officer Commanding Sussex Wing, were Squadron Leader Dave Taylor from HQ Air Cadets, RAF veterans, local Police and councillors, staff, parents and friends. Even though they were nervous, the cadets shone through and showed why they are the Wales & West Regional nominees for this prestigious trophy.

Rewards come to those who wait and after a long, hot day's work at the 2007 Cosford Air Show, cadets from Staffordshire Wing got to meet the Red Arrows pilots. Standing with Red 7, Flt Lt Paul 'Pablo' O'Grady, are L-R: Cadets Nathan Dawson and Victoria Green from 351 (Burton on Trent) Sqn and Cadets Chris Morgan and Vicky Phillips from 425 (Aldridge) Sqn.

More than 600 cadets and staff enjoyed a sunny Wing field day held at Stafford's 4 Site. The competition from the 31 squadrons was fierce and 2078 (Boscobel) Sqn took the top trophy as Field Day Winners. 1046 (Fordhouses) Sqn came second with 1122 (Marmion) Sqn coming third. Competitions included drill, banner drill, first aid, modelling, aircraft recognition and shooting. For the second year, a photographic competition was run with 12 squadrons entering displays.
