The December 2006 presentation evening held at Staffordshire Wing Headquarters featured awards for Civilian Committee staff, Civilian Instructors and cadets. To present the awards along side Staffordshire Wing Officer Commanding, Wing Commander Colin Cope, were Group Captain Dick Allen, Regional Commandant Wales & West Region, and Rev Alan Barrett, Wales & West Region Padre. The highlight of the awards was the presentation of the Certificate of Meritorious Service to Civilian Instructor Terry Bagwell. Terry has been at 1871 (Rugeley) Squadron for 37 years and received his certificate from Group Captain Dick Allen.
A special award was given to John Hindhaugh to say thank you from Staffordshire Wing for his endeavours in the SETPOINT partnership. Mr Hindhaugh is retiring from SETPOINT and his help will be greatly missed.

Just before Christmas, 1206 (Mercian) Squadron received the good news that they had raised a staggering amount of money for the annual Poppy Appeal. Thirty cadets spent a long day collecting at Morrison's supermarket and Lichfield City Centre with the local Royal British Legion.
