Group Captain Patrick Kiggell came along to a brilliant Staffs Wing Field Day to say his goodbyes to the cadets and staff within the Wing. At an emotional final parade, the Group Captain's final wish was that on the eye's left command, everyone "must look in him the eye".
Representatives from all 31 squadrons attended and the competition in each event was fierce. The eventual overall winners were 1871 (Rugeley) Squadron (pictured with the Wing Commander, Colin Cope). 230 (Congleton) came in second with 1122 (Marmion) coming third. The usual categories - drill, banner drill, modeling, aircraft recognition, first aid -were hard fought, including the introduction of a new Photography competition.
We've only got another year to practice, so let's get cracking!
