Cpl Sarah Breakspeare from 2078 (Boscobel) Sqn lifted the coveted Player of the Tournament trophy at this weekend's (14 January 2006) Corps netball tournament.
As part of the ATC netball team, competition was tough. Cpl Breakspeare's opponents were two professional teams - Yendys and Ridge - and the Corps Veterans.
Even though the ATC didn't win the tournament, Cpl Breakspeare's talents obviously shone through. "I scored many goals," said Cpl Breakspeare. "I am absolutely thrilled. I really didn't expect to get this award. My intention was to play the same as the rest of the team and that was to win. Getting picked to play at Corps level is fantastic in itself, but to win the Player of the Tournament put the icing on the cake!"
