Canoeing and Kayaking is a fun activity and can be carried out from the calm inland waters of a canal to the not so calm sea, depending on the qualifications of the instructor and the experience of the cadets.
Only a small number of Squadrons within Staffordshire Wing have qualified canoeists on their units. These units use the North Wales, Chester and Penkridge areas to carry out inland water canoeing and kayaking.
In the short term to overcome a shortage of instructors, Squadrons of the Wing are attending Outdoor pursuits centres and employing qualified instructors to take cadets on this exciting activity.
